Rivers connect for a mile of fun through three distinct park sections at Schlitterbahn Galveston. The waterpark is a thrill seekers paradise with high thrill speed slides including Rohr!, MASSIV, and the immersive Screaming Serpents body slide. Each section has raft rides, pools and water coasters with great picnic pavilions and pint sized water playgrounds for kids of all ages. If you are looking for a way to cool off or fun things to do in Galveston, we have the hottest, coolest rides around.

Can I bring a picnic to the park?

You are more than welcome to bring your own family picnic basket and cooler inside the park. Guests may bring coolers that are smaller than 26”L x 16”W x 16”D. Glass and alcohol are prohibited. Coolers are subject to search prior to entry. Schlitterbahn Galveston Island also offers a wide variety of fun foods and beverages throughout the park for those who do not wish to bring their own picnic.

Is there shade?

Shaded seating is provided throughout the park, but we urge everyone to protect delicate skin from the sun with sunscreen, hats, beach footwear, and lightweight shirts. You may bring these items with you or purchase them in one of our gift shops.

During the summer season, our park offers a limited number of cabanas that are available for advance rental on a first-come-first serve basis. The cabanas are located in the Blastenhoff area of the waterpark. Private cabana rentals are not available during the Wasserfest Season.

Are there height requirements on the rides?

Schlitterbahn uses an attraction rating system for all water attractions. An information sign is posted at each attraction entrance with ride descriptions, thrill rating and skills required for riding. Riders must be at least 42 inches to experience the Dragonblaster, Loopy Luge and Guada-Loopy tube chutes and must be at least 48 inches to ride Rohr!, Faust and Furious, MASSIV and the Screaming Serpents.

What about toddlers?

Schlitterbahn Galveston Island has attractions for smaller children in every section of the park, so there is always something to do. Wasserfest Kids Area, Tiki Tikes, and Treasure Island Kids Area are each complete water playgrounds with a collection of mini slides, sprayers, fountains, and more. There are even more slides and attractions designed with toddlers in mind in the Torrent Beach Kids Pool and Shipwreck Harbor.

Are there weight restrictions on the rides?

Schlitterbahn aims to create an enjoyable experience for people of all shapes and sizes. For the safety of our guests, we do have weight restrictions on select attractions (including body slides and blasters) and restrictions do vary. Please see individual attractions for specific information on weight parameters.

What if there is bad weather on the day of my visit?

Schlitterbahn will remain open on most rainy days; however, in the event of severe inclement weather, such as lightning, heavy rain, or high winds, Schlitterbahn attractions may need to close for the safety of our guests. In the event rides do shut down they will reopen as soon as it is safe. Since the waterpark remains open most rainy days, we do not offer rain checks or refunds.

Do you have changing facilities?

Changing areas are located in the bathrooms at the main Castle Village. Please be sure to bring swim diapers for infants. Regular diapers are not permitted in any pool or attraction. Swim diapers are available at the gift shops.
