What is Upside Down Escapes?
UDEG is an Escape Room located on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. An Escape Game, (also called Escape Room, Escape Room Game or Mystery Room) is an interactive adventure game for people ages 10 to 110 (younger players permitted at parent’s discretion). Players are placed in a room and have 60 minutes to complete a mission by solving a series of puzzles and connecting clues. Don’t think of it as an intelligence test, instead each game consists of carefully crafted puzzles and clues that will challenge your ability to observe, connect and communicate. Our games are always private, so you can enjoy the experience with just the team of your choosing.

At Upside Down Escapes, we take your preconceived notions of how things are and flip them Upside Down (name drop!). Our Mission is to provide you with the opportunity to put down the electronics, leave the real world behind and have a blast spending 60 minutes of quality time with your family, friends and colleagues in an interactive and immersive entertainment experience.

Baggage Bandits
We’re back in the Golden Age of travel, and you are a member of the infamous gang of Baggage Bandits. You and your crew have been hired to hit up the Owl Express Train Station and break into as much luggage as you can get your hands on with the hope of gaining possession of valuable souvenirs and precious artifacts. The more you steal, the bigger the payoff from your boss. Do you have what it takes to make a living off this life of crime?

No experience required for this intermediate challenge level escape room! However, if this is one of your first escape rooms and/or there are younger players in your group, it is best to start with our Gingerbread themed game first. We know we know, but you are super smart! You play puzzle games on your phone! It’s not that we don’t believe you…it’s just that there is a learning curve with escape rooms. You kinda have to play one first in order to fully understand them. The Gingerbread game gives you the best chance of solving some of the puzzles independently your first go round. Then, once you have an idea how it works, you can take on one of our other games and challenge yourself to solve as much as you can independently in that one. No matter what you choose though, we offer unlimited hints to help try to get you through!

Bandits is recommended for ages 12+, but younger players allowed at parents discretion, with a minimum age requirement of 5. Please note that any players under the age of 16 are required to be accompanied by at least one adult participant for ALL games.

Minimum/Maximum Team Size: 2-4 (we will allow larger groups to book this room if you have a teams of 5-6, but for an optimal experience we suggest a max of 4 players)

The Gingerbread Cottage
This game is a family friendly escape room. As with all our games, the puzzles are designed with teens and adults in mind, but this is also the game that our younger players are able to contribute the most in!

DING! Nothing beats the smell of fresh baked gingerbread cookies around the holidays…except when YOU are the gingerbread cookies. As you gain sentience after leaving that 350 degree inferno, you look around and realize you and your friends are gingerbread cookies fresh from the oven. According to that annoying cookie timer, you have 60 minutes to escape before those hungry kiddos with their grubby little fingers come home for a snack. So, you better run run as fast as you can, escape or be eaten, because YOU’RE the gingerbread man!

First timer? No problem! This game is beginner friendly with an intermediate challenge level, and no experienced is required to play it. Recommended for ages 8-88! Younger players allowed at parents discretion with a minimum age requirement of 5. Any players under the age of 16 are required to be accompanied by at least one adult participant for ALL games.

Nocturnal Keep
Please note that Nocturnal Keep was previously known as Secret of Dragon’s Spire, but as of July 2021 this game has a new name and new gameplay! It is also now a 75 minute game instead of 60 minutes.

The Grand Wizard Owlazar has hired your band of adventurers to venture into the mysterious Nocturnal Keep – a place of eternal night and even darker secrets. Owlazar has cast a spell of protection on your party that will shield you from the dangerous enchantments protecting Nocturnal Keep. While Owlazar’s magic safeguards your party, it is up to all of you to uncover the secrets and bypass the challenges that await you to uncover the Gem Nocturnus. Fail to do so, and you’ll never see the light of day again (dun dun dun)!

First timers? Younger players in the group? It’s probably best to start with one of our 60 minute games. Experience is very strongly recommended (but not required) for this escape room, as it is more challenging than our other offerings. It is best to start with our Gingerbread themed game first.
