This is an excellent introduction to fishing our beautiful Gulf of Mexico aboard the Vera Mari.

Vera Marie is a 70′ walk-around vessel raising the bar for fishing “party boats.” She has a sun deck, large air-conditioned salon, restrooms, and overnight accommodations. We offer two fishing trips a day during busy season and one trip a day during the off season when available. She is also excellent for corporate parties, holiday events, family reunions, weddings, bachelor/ette parties and more. With trips starting at just $89 per person, you won’t break the budget.

Party Boat Fishing on Vera MarieWe generally run two trips a day in summer and one trip a day during off season (depending on booking volume). On average, you can expect to catch a variety of fish such as Mingos (Vermilion Snapper), White Snapper (Red Porgy), Black Snapper (Mangrove Snapper), Trigger Fish, Rock Fish, etc. If you are lucky, you could catch Grouper, Jacks, Mackerel, etc.

Species: mostly Snapper family & triggerfish, anything else is a bonus! Which fish you can keep depends on the time of year and what is in season.
On the Vera Marie, every person or group will have their own numbered cooler where you will put any fish you catch that are in season. At the end of the charter, you will keep everything in your cooler which our crew will clean and bag for you to take.

All fishing trips include your fishing license, rod and reel, bait, and cleaning and bagging your fish afterwards

Children must be 6 years old to participate in a fishing excursion with us.

Know before you go

Wear something comfortable and appropriate for the weather conditions while also considering that temperatures out on the water and on a boat can vary from on land. Also many fishing trips will start early in the morning when it might be chilly and end in the hot afternoon sun. For this reason it’s best to dress in layers so you have plenty of options.

Many people prefer a lightweight micro-fiber long-sleeved shirt to keep you cool and protected from the sun. Also consider a light windbreaker or rain jacket since it can get breezy during the travel to your fishing destination and occasional rain showers can roll in. We highly recommend non-skid rubber sole shoes (such as sneakers), a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses.

We suggest bringing a small cooler with food, drinks (including plenty of water), a hand towel, sunscreen, and sunglasses. Alcoholic beverages are allowed but please no glass.

First timers may want to take some non-drowsy motion sickness medication.

Bananas are considered bad luck on a fishing boat so please leave those at home!

You will have the opportunity to catch many varieties of fish including Amberjack, Grouper, Triggerfish, Red Snapper, and a variety of other Snapper. Which fish you can keep depends on the time of year and what is in season.
