Originally designed by Bruce Devlin in 1986 (as Lagoon Legends) and renovated by Nicklaus Design in 2005, Bay Point Golf Club is the only Nicklaus Design golf course in Northwest Florida. With 18 holes of Championship Golf, Bay Point Golf Club is one of the top resort destinations along the Emerald Coast. The par 72 Nicklaus Design championship layout stretches a little over 7,000 yards from the back tees with a challenging course rating of 74.5 and slope of 137 and has hosted numerous regional and local events including the USGA U.S. Open Local Qualifier in 2016 & 2021.

Recognized for its premium conditioning and risk reward opportunities, The Nicklaus Course is set against the backdrop of St. Andrew’s Bay and a marshland wildlife sanctuary. Panoramic vistas of the bay, marsh, and scenic wetlands abound throughout the course. A great test for all golfers, the Nicklaus course features five sets of tees stretching from 4,100 to nearly 7,100 yards. Whether you are a Professional golfer or beginner enthusiast, there is plenty that Bay Point can offer.

In the summer of 2018, The Nicklaus Course underwent a greens conversion which involved the full-till process. This process included the original specs of the greens sprigged with Tif-Eagle Bermuda-Grass, a major upgrade to the ultra-dwarf grass. The greens renovation has improved year-round course playability, green speeds, and receptiveness.

The renovation also included all new green-side bunkers on all the holes on the Nicklaus Couse. The course opened for public play starting October 8th, 2018. Located minutes from the white, sandy beaches of Panama City Beach, near Rosemary Beach and 30A. We're also conveniently located for Destin, FL, residents and visitors. Our championship course is carved from Northwest Florida's natural terrain of scrub oaks, pines, and saltwater marshes. You'll find our award-winning golf course layout to be unique, challenging, and unforgettable.

The Fifth Hole of the Nicklaus Course At Bay Point

The signature fifth hole offers a spectacular tee shot to an island fairway in the middle of the Grand Lagoon with a second shot to a peninsula green overlooking St. Andrews Bay.
