Emerald Coast Science Center’s mission is to inspire and grow a scientifically engaged community. Experience workshops, exhibits, and opportunities for a wide range of interests at the museum, for a wide range of ages! The center is also home to over 35 exotic animals, all of whom are rescued or adopted, to help teach guests about native, nonnative, and invasive species.

Food and Drink
Since we are a smaller museum, we do not have a cafe. However, you are welcome to bring in food and drink. We also offer various snacks (chips, crackers, cookies, etc.) for $1.50, various sodas and juices for $1.50, and bottled water for $1.00. We also now sell Dippin' Dots ice cream pouches for $5.00 each.
Visits typically range from 1 1/2 to 2 hours on average. However, with a building full of exhibits inside and out, it is pretty normal for a lot of families to spend 3 hours or more here exploring all our offerings. You're welcome to leave and grab lunch before returning to play more! Your admission covers the entire day of purchase.
How did you get all of your animal ambassadors?
The center is home to over 35 exotic animals, all of whom are rescues or adopted. They have either been donated to us by their original owners who could no longer care for them, or they were adopted by the center through Florida's Exotic Animal Amnesty Program as an effort to reduce the number of nonnative pets released into the wild. All our animals are loved and cared for daily by our staff, and it is our great joy to allow our Animal Ambassadors to help us teach guests about native, nonnative, and invasive species.
